The International Flag of Planet Earth

08_IFOPE_20x30.jpg

This flag means a lot to me personally, and I have the flag patch on my bags, jackets, bumper stickers, the works - I even flew a full sized flag from my residence when I lived in central Brisbane. It a powerful symbol that I want to see everywhere, a symbol that also features in the children's sci-fi 'The Montague Odyssey: Lost in Tomorrow' book trilogy.

Developed by Swiss student Oskar Pernefeldt, it represents so collaboration, hope, and optimism for the future of all of Earth's species. Going further into the symbolism, it also represents to me 'all life interconnected and interdependent and thriving together on an abundant blue planet'.

Earth is a rare gem, in a vast solar system, an even vaster galaxy, and it is something to be cherished and revered.

The flag also points to a future where Earth's borders dissolve and we come together as one global human family, a collaborative force that moves beyond the confines of monetary based economics, and move ever closer to becoming a truly civilised world that respects all life - from ant, to tree, to human, and later even digital-life.

If you share this dream, then fly the flag proud - it's on Redbubble.com in all forms of merchandise, and I have a limited edition patch here in the shop, available now.
